Recorded history of Copperas Cove does not exist before 1832, when it was still apart of the State of Coahuila, Mexico. The Cove is located 33 miles west of I-35 on U.S. Highway 190. Houston, Austin, Waco, Dallas, and Fort Worth are within one to four hours driving time.

Copperas Cove (population 32,000) takes pride in its public schools and friendly neighborhoods, as well as being a "home away from home" for the soldiers of Fort Hood and their families.
