Committed to Excellence
Hewitt is committed to education, and offers an excellent public school system, alternative schools, and higher education.
Midway Independent School District is making an impact on education by offering competitive educational, athletic, and fine arts programs at all levels. There are 6,000 students and approximately 850 employees at five elementary schools, an intermediate school, a middle school and a high school, newly opened in 2002.
Student achievement is a priority in Midway ISD. The Texas Education Agency rated five of the eight campuses as “Exemplary” or Recognized,” and South Bosque Elementary was named “One of the Best Elementary Schools in Texas” by TBEC for the second year.
Midway High School’s recent highlights include: three National Merit Finalists; 19 Commended Scholars; two National Hispanic Scholars; one PSAT National Achievement Scholar; and 51 AP Scholars.
Midway ISD’s success can be attributed to highly trained educators and staff, state-of-the-art facilities, Booster Clubs, volunteer programs and drug prevention programs. Community involvement separates Midway ISD, and enables its dedication to providing a safe, nurturing learning environment and a quality educational program in which students become responsible citizens and lifelong learners.
