

The Greater Hewitt-Waco area is served by two fully accredited, not-for-profit hospitals. Healthcare for Hewitt residents includes two clinics that serve the medical needs of the community. Scott and White Clinic and Hillcrest Medical Clinic, both on Hewitt Drive, are satellites of larger medical facilities nearby.
Hillcrest Health System operates with a mission to personally provide quality, compassionate healthcare in a Christian environment. The system includes Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center (HBMC), a fully accredited 236-bed acute care hospital on Interstate 35; HBMC – Herring Avenue, a post-acute care campus comprised of more than 50 inpatient beds, including the only acute care Inpatient Rehabilitation Center in Waco; and Hillcrest Family Health Center, a network of primary care clinics located in Bellmead, China Spring, Hewitt, Gatesville, Woodway and Waco. Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center is jointly operated by Hillcrest Health System and Scott & White Healthcare. HMBC is home to Waco’s only Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and is the area’s only Level II Trauma Center. Hillcrest is also the Official Healthcare Provider for Baylor University Athletics.
Serving the Waco community since 1905, Providence Healthcare Network is dedicated to carrying out its Mission of Compassion and Vision of Excellence through providing exceptional healthcare. The Providence Network includes the Providence Health Center, a 214-bed acute care full-service medical center with cardiac, orthopedic, obstetric, bariatric, rehabilitative and emergency services; several Providence Clinics; the DePaul Center, a 64-bed mental health facility; Providence Home Care, one of the largest full-service home care agencies locally; and Providence Park, a 341-bed multi-level of care, long-term facility and retirement
community offering sub-acute, nursing care and rehabilitation services. Other service lines include a certified primary stroke center, The Heart Hospital at Providence and the new Providence Breast Health Center. Two additional hospitals, Scott and White Memorial and Kings Daughters, are located 30 minutes south of Hewitt in Temple. Waco is also the home of the Veterans Administration Hospital. There are more than 300 doctors in 45 areas of study in the Greater Hewitt-Waco area. Medical clinics are located throughout Hewitt and Waco for convenient services seven days a week.
