DALLAS MUSEUM OF ART

The Dallas Museum of Art is lined with a collection exceeding 23,000 works of art from around the world, representing everything from ancient to contemporary times. In addition to the wealth of beautiful items are a calendar year of dynamic programs, special events and engaging exhibitions for people of all ages.

DALLAS CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS

Set to open in October of 2009, the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts is slated to become the best venue to see hundreds of performances a year—from opera, ballet and musicals to concerts and Broadway shows. The exciting new development will include four sensational venues—the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House, the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre, the Annette Strauss Artist Square and the City Performance Hall—all encompassed by the 10-acre urban Performance Park, complete with pathways and picnic areas.

DALLAS PUPPET THEATER

For more than 25 years, the Dallas Puppet Theater has been providing exceptional family entertainment at the AT&T Auditorium in the Women’s Museum, an Institute for the Future. Guests can take advantage of an ongoing series of family performances, guest artists, school programs, workshops and outreach opportunities.

DALLAS SUMMER MUSICALS

Dallas Summer Musicals had its start nearly 70 years ago as an outdoor summer musical series. The benefit of air conditioning brought the series indoors and the popular Dallas Summer Musicals has since played host to such well known musicals as Hello Dolly!, Peter Pan, Fiddler on the Roof, The Wizard of Oz, Wicked and the Lion King.

DALLAS SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA

Take in the melodic sounds of the renowned Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Housed within the beautiful Meyerson Symphony Center, the DSO offers a series of concerts for a variety of audiences, along with opportunities for community education, contests and events.

THE MAJESTIC THEATRE

The Majestic Theatre has been a part of the area’s entertainment scene since its opening in April of 1921 to such acts as Houdini and Mae West. The Majestic Theatre closed its doors in early 1976 for restoration and renovation, reopening in January of 1983 and earning recognition on the National Register of Historic Places. Today, the 1,704-seat theatre, located on the border of downtown Dallas, invites guests to enjoy musicals, dramas, dinner productions, concerts and more.

NASHER SCULPTURE CENTER

Peruse through more than 300 sculptures, complemented by wonderful paintings and drawings, at the modern Nasher Sculpture Center. Look through more than 10,000 square feet of indoor exhibition space, or walk amongst the serene 1.5-acre outdoor sculpture garden encompassing the building. Various exhibitions, events, speakers and more round out the year round offerings at the center.

TEXAS INTERNATIONAL THEATRICAL ARTS SOCIETY

TITAS was established in 1982 and has since presented more than 150 of the world’s best performing ensembles. An eclectic calendar of performances comprises TITAS’ dynamic dance series, from classical dance companies and ethnic troupes to youth ensembles.
