KAUFMAN
INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT

The Kaufman Independent School District (Kaufman ISD) is the largest public school district in the county, serving more than 3,600 students enrolled in early childhood education through 12th grade. Around 500+ certified and support personnel are employed through Kaufman ISD. Seven campuses compose the district—Edwards Early Childhood (Head Start, Pre-K, K), Monday Primary (1-2), Philips Elementary (3-4), Nash Intermediate School (5-6), Norman Jr. High (7-8), Kaufman High (9-12) and Options HS/Alternative Learning Center. On top of a challenging curriculum designed to prepare students for the future are a wide range of extracurricular activities, including excellence in athletics and the band program.
ADDITIONAL OPTIONS
Alternatives to the traditional public education route are readily available in Kaufman. Legacy Academy is an accredited Texas charter school offering educational opportunities for students in grades 8-12, while a parochial setting can be found through Kaufman Christian School for those in grades pre-Kindergarten-6.
HIGHER LEARNING
Consistently ranked among the best community colleges in Texas, Trinity Valley Community College is an exceptional two-year college offering four campus locations—including one in Kaufman. The TVCC Health Science Center is adjacent to Presbyterian Hospital of Kaufman and provides students with an assortment of health occupation programs. Distance learning is another viable option for those with a busy schedule.
