Government Services
Since 1987, the City of Kaufman has operated with a Council-Manager form of government, which is overseen by a seven-member elected policy body—the Mayor and Council. The City Council holds regularly scheduled meetings every third Monday of the month within the Council Chamber Room in City Hall.
The City of Kaufman is comprised of a number of departments that manage all parts of community life. Administration, Finance, Economic Development, Public Works, Police, Fire and Parks and Recreation are included in the listing of City Departments. In addition to the array of services provided by the City, citizens have the chance to participate in local government through several City Boards and Commissions. The Kaufman Economic Development Corporation (KEDC), Keep Kaufman Beautiful Board (KKB) and the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board (PAR) are some of the opportunities afforded to residents.
