The Kennedale Chamber of Commerce actively supports existing businesses with educational and networking opportunities. The Chamber also sponsors programs to increase community and regional involvement. These activities and entertainment include the celebration of Texas Independence on first weekend in March, an annual car show and health fair, a golf tournament and support of the Art in the Park and Christmas Tree Lighting.
Kennedale has great plans for its future. The recently approved TownCenter project is under construction. This infill retail development is expected to bring additional services — including a general practice doctor’s office — to Kennedale. The project will include outdoor space for city events, such as the annual Art in the Park festival, to be held in the spring of 2011.
The City of Kennedale is working to bring a commuter rail stop to Kennedale. The proposed location for the stop is only half a mile from TownCenter. The rail line would enable passengers to reach downtown Fort Worth and to connect from there to several Tarrant County suburban locations, as well as Dallas and its suburbs. Through the transit lines, Kennedale residents will be able to reach much of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex without having to drive.

The city is in the process of upgrading its Parks Master Plan and plans to connect all of the city’s parks through hike and bike trails. This project ties in with the city’s goal of becoming a sidewalk-connected community in which residents have non-auto travel options to go from one part of the city to another. In addition, Kennedale is working to secure grant funding and other assistance to clean up and improve the Village Creek area. Once improvements are finished, Village Creek will provide scenic and recreational activities to residents and visitors.
