K-12 PUBLIC SCHOOLS
Educational excellence is the goal of the school districts in the Kleberg County area. There are currently four public school districts: Kingsville Independent School District, Santa Gertrudis School District, Ricardo Independent School District and Riviera Independent School District. Our school districts all share a commitment to high standards and continuous improvement.
Kingsville ISD is divided into three clusters at the primary level (grades pre-K to 1) and two clusters at the elementary (2-4). Secondary campuses consist of one intermediate school (5-6) at Gillette Intermediate School, the newest campus in Kingsville; one middle school (7-8) at Memorial Middle School; and one high school (9-12) at H.M. King High School. Kingsville ISD also provides an alternative high school program that offers non-traditional, computer-based instruction.
In 1994, the Santa Gertrudis and Driscoll Independent School districts joined together in an effort to create a bold new concept for high school education. They formed a partnership with Texas A&M University-Kingsville (TAMUK) to develop Academy High School. Located on the campus grounds at TAMUK, Academy High School serves students in grades 9-12 from several South Texas communities. The curriculum is offered year round and utilizes non-traditional, self-paced approaches to meet the individual needs of the students.

Ricardo ISD is centrally located within a small farming community in Kleberg County and serves grades pre-K to 8. Ricardo has received exemplary ratings, and its School Board has been recognized for its outstanding performance.
Riviera ISD, located in southern Kleberg County, offers a comprehensive pre-K through 12th grade public school program in a rural setting, with a teacher-student ratio of 1:12. It has a wide variety of course offerings, including Pre-AP and AP classes and dual-credit college classes through Coastal Bend College.
PRIVATE SCHOOLS
In addition to the various public school choices in Kingsville are four private, faith-based schools for consideration. These schools include Epiphany Episcopal School, serving grades pre-K to 5; First United Methodist School, serving pre-K to 1; St. Gertrude’s Catholic School, serving K to 5; and Presbyterian Pan American School, serving 9th to 12th grades.
