Chamber Welcome Letter

The Lake Travis Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1986 by a small group of area business and civic leaders. The group’s goal was to promote the unique aspects of western Travis County and the South Lake Travis area as its own distinct identity.

The Lake Travis Chamber of Commerce founders sought to define this local identity and become a voice for the needs and desires of the area’s communities and businesses. That continues to be the goal of the Lake Travis Chamber of Commerce today.

The Mission of the Lake Travis Chamber of Commerce is to promote sound economic growth, to assist members with business development and to create awareness related to the outstanding characteristics of the unique South Lake Travis Community.

And what a community it is! The area includes the Lake, the Hill Country, fantastic schools and, most importantly, the people. The Lake Travis area is blessed with a growing number of dedicated volunteers, proactive community leaders and responsive, informative local governments.

Our secret is out and we are experiencing unprecedented growth in our Hill Country haven. The population and business boom in the Lake Travis area has affected the Lake Travis Chamber of Commerce as well. Keeping up with the growth has been an incredible opportunity for members to grow and prosper in their community.

Membership in the Lake Travis Chamber of Commerce provides businesses and professionals an opportunity to join with other community-minded business people to support and enhance the quality of life in the South Lake Travis area.

The Lake Travis Chamber of Commerce supports the community with several events throughout the year. The Annual Awards Banquet recognizes businesses and individuals that go above and beyond to serve and support the citizens of Lake Travis. The Annual Gala also serves as the primary fundraiser for the Chamber Scholarship Program. A special luncheon is held in May to award deserving graduates of Lake Travis High School scholarships to continue their education. In August, the Chamber hosts an event to welcome all of the new teachers, administrators and staff to the Lake Travis Independent School District.

SpringFest offers members an opportunity to showcase and expose their businesses to the community and allow Lake Travis residents to shop their favorite local businesses all in one place! This community festival offers a wide array of food, fun, live music and activities for the youngsters and young at heart. The annual Golf Tournament allows residents and members the chance to play a little golf while giving chamber members a great opportunity to advertise their business, network with members and support their Chamber. Our members now have countless opportunities in which to showcase their businesses to our growing community.
