Education
Polk County is served by public school districts in six communities, as well as parochial and private schools and many day care centers.
Each school district supports a high school, junior highs, middle schools and numerous elementary school campuses.
There are several two and four-year colleges within driving distance. Angelina Junior College in Lufkin serves the county with night classes that enable the students to work on college courses while still in high school, as well as providing opportunities for residents who wish to pursue higher education.
