WHAT IS A CHAMBER OF COMMERCE?
The Mansfield Area Chamber of Commerce is a voluntary organization of business and professional men and women who have joined together for the purpose of promoting the civic and commercial progress of our community.
Any citizen who is interested in working with others to develop Mansfield, which means more businesses, more jobs and a better quality of life for everyone, is eligible for membership in the Mansfield Area Chamber. The financial investment is structured to allow even the smallest business or organization to be a member.
The work of the Chamber is financed primarily by the investment of our members whose level of support is based on the size of their business and their interest in the continuous improvement of the community.
The Mansfield Area Chamber consists of volunteers serving on committees and a Board of Directors, all of whom serve without pay. The members are served by a professional staff of full-time paid employees.
The area’s economic well-being is related directly to the caliber of work that is done by the Chamber. That is why the Mansfield Area Chamber has a major impact on business, income and future growth of the area.
HOW DOES THE CHAMBER FUNCTION?
The Mansfield Area Chamber functions through committees of the organization focused on Chamber Service (service to the members of the Chamber) and Community Service (service by the members of the Chamber to the community).
An annual Action Plan is created by looking at the vision of the community, examining the current situation and determining how to get from here to there. Specific tasks and programs are identified and task teams are formed to get the job done.
The goal of the action plan is always to improve the standard of living and the quality of life for all of Mansfield.
