An ideal location in the northeastern section of Texas has contributed to the attractive features of Plano. Part of Plano is in Collin County, with a very small portion in Denton County. The city is just 20 minutes north of Dallas, placing it within the extensive DFW Metroplex. It is easily accessible by State Highways 121, 190 (George Bush Turnpike), 289 (Preston Road), U.S. Highway 75 (Central Expressway) and the Dallas North Tollway.
Affordable and efficient public transportation services are readily available through Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART), a vast network composed of DART Rail, Trinity Railway Express (TRE) and local and express bus services. These established routes provide riders with quick travel possibilities to a variety of area destinations, including major airports, entertainment venues and attractions. There are three Plano DART locations in Plano: Parker Road Station, Downtown Plano Station and the George Bush Turnpike Station.
