Richards Memorial Hospital is an acute care medical/surgical hospital with 25 beds. The hospital is equipped with a 24-hour Emergency Room, certified by the Texas Department of Health as a Level IV, Basic Trauma Facility. The ER is staffed with an emergency room physician and telemedical doctor, as well as trained emergency room nurses.

The hospital’s services include the full range of state-of-the-art radiological diagnostic equipment, such as CT scans, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine. RMH operates a Rural Health Clinic Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Numerous medical facilities in Austin, Bryan/College Station, and Temple are a 55-minute drive from Rockdale.

Rockdale’s elderly community has convenient, local access to specialized health care facilities and programs and assisted living options. Many facilities offer medical care, physical fitness programs, and nutrition and wellness programs.
