Neighboring Garland is home to Baylor Medical Center, an accredited healthcare facility dedicated to providing high-quality care to the area. Medical specialties accessed here include cardiopulmonary, emergency, orthopedics, cardiovascular, outpatient, pain management, rehabilitation, and women’s and children’s care, among others. Recent accolades received by Baylor Medical Center include the 2007 VHA Leadership Award for Clinical Excellence in acute myocardial infarction treatment and surgical infection prevention, as well as its recognition as a Top Hospital in Texas in 2007 by the Greater Dallas Chamber of Commerce.
Richardson Regional Medical Center is a short distance away as well. The network’s main 205-bed, acute-care hospital is staffed by more than 700 physicians, which is composed of primary care physicians and specialists representing the fields of cardiology, obstetrics/gynecology, oncology, gastroenterology and others. The Richardson Regional Cancer Center, an affiliate of the UT Southwestern Medical Center, can be found adjacent to the main hospital campus. The Bush/Renner Campus is located on the east side of town. The newest additions to this campus, opened as of fall 2008, are the new 47,000- square-foot outpatient hospital and 50,000-square-foot comprehensive cancer center.
Sachse residents also have access to Lake Pointe Medical Center in Rowlett, a full-service, 99-bed facility offering a broad range of medical specialties. These specialties include everything from cardiology, obstetrics/gynecology, family practice and internal medicine to general surgery, urology, neonatology, bariatric surgery and pulmonary medicine.
