Education
San Angelo is home to exceptional educational opportunities. Twenty-six public facilities offer Early Head Start and Head Start, preschool, elementary and secondary education, while six private and/or parochial schools are certified through twelfth grade level. The public system also operates special education programs for vision and hearing impaired students, as well as those with other special needs. The San Angelo Independent School District consists of two high schools, one freshman campus, three middle schools, 17 elementary schools and three Early Head Start/Head Start campuses.
