Howard College
Recognized as one of the 50 fastest growing community colleges in the nation for their enrollment size, Howard College works to make higher-education opportunities available by offering programs that meet the needs of the community and their students. Since opening its doors in 1973, Howard College San Angelo offers a variety of degree options that can lead to an Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, Associate of Applied Science or a certificate.

In addition to the academic offerings, Howard College’s Workforce Training/Continuing Education division offers courses and workshops for career or personal development. In addition, they provide a full range of technical and customized training programs for business and industry to meet the specific needs of their employees. Howard College is also an official GED Testing Center. Coupled with the Adult Basic Education (ABE) program, individuals who need preparation for the GED exam can take refresher courses through ABE. In addition, ABE offers English as a Second Language (ESL) classes.

American Commercial College
American Commercial Colleges are the oldest private, continuously owned career schools in Texas and the fifth oldest in America. Six campuses have served Texas since 1958. The San Angelo campus opened in 1976. The college’s mission is devoted to the delivery of a specialized, fast-track skill education that puts the student on the job as quickly as possible.

Over 24 nationally recognized certification credentials are offered via the career training programs that accelerate the graduate’s climb up the career ladder. A learning environment conducive to individualized instruction, hands-on learning and career specific skill training is provided. Classes begin every five weeks and most students can complete training and certification in less than a year.

The college is nationally accredited by ACICS and is considered an institution of higher education by the Department of Education, Washington, DC. Federal Financial Aid programs are available to students who qualify if they help pay for college costs. ACC is approved for Veterans Education training, Vocational Rehabilitation training, Workforce Investment Act training, DWT and OWT training, Texas Readjustment Act and MET training.

Diploma programs are offered in the Allied Health fields of medical assisting, dental assisting, physical therapy, medical office, business, administrative assistance, accountancy and computer career fields.
