Founded in 1998, the Katherine Anne Porter High School is a free, accredited public charter school located in the beautiful village of Wimberley, Texas. Students in grades nine through 12 are encouraged to become lifelong learners and productive citizens of the world community. Four foundations are at the core of the school’s philosophy – respect, participation, academic priorities and community service. With a broad-based liberal arts curriculum, students can chose from electives such as guitar, ceramic arts, web-mastering, yoga, karate, philosophy and criminal justice, to name but a few. In the words of Superintendent Dr. Yana Bland, “Cooperation, honesty and a love of learning characterize the Katherine Anne Porter School climate today.”
