

The Town of Farmville and the counties of Prince Edward and Cumberland are home to a number of national and local civic and service organizations. In addition to the Farmville Area Chamber of Commerce, the inventory of civic clubs and organizations includes the Farmville Jaycees, the Rotary Club, the Woman’s Club, the Junior Woman’s Club, the Lions Club, the Exchange Club, Daughters of the American Revolution, the Business and Professional Women’s Club, historical societies in both Prince Edward and Cumberland counties, the Masonic Lodge, and more.
Service work in the area is also enhanced by the American Cancer Society, Farmville Area Habitat for Humanity, the NAACP, the Martha E. Forrester Council of Women, FACES Food Pantry, the local SPCA, political organizations, garden clubs, Rescue Squad and Fire Department auxiliary organizations, and many more. The United Way is a source of funding for many of the area’s service organizations.
