Welcome From the Chamber

farmville chamber of commerce

WELCOME to the Town of Farmville, and the counties of Prince Edward and Cumberland. The Farmville Area Chamber has been serving our region since 1948. The Chamber exists to improve the quality of life of those living and doing business in our community by working in partnership with its members and local government. We have had far-reaching effects on our community through education initiatives, the Leadership Farmville program, tourism promotions, business seminars, and other opportunities to serve our diverse and growing population.

Shopping and dining opportunities are many and varied on Main Street Farmville and beyond in Prince Edward and Cumberland counties. Civil War history buffs frequent the Route of Lee’s Retreat Driving Tour and our old cemeteries. Outdoor recreation enthusiasts enjoy fishing, paddling, hiking, and hunting in our area parks and reservoirs. The Robert Russa Moton Museum is a center for the study of civil rights in education and serves as the anchor tenant on the Civil Rights and Education Heritage Trail. The Farmville area anticipates the opening of the High Bridge Trail, our newest tourist attraction. This new rail-to-trail project has been embraced by the local governments in the area and will offer many recreational opportunities for residents in our area and those throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia.

It is all right here in our area—beautiful residential areas, great restaurants, exceptional shopping opportunities, outdoor recreation, excellent medical facilities, and historical sites—the amenities are endless. If you are joining us for a day, a week, or a lifetime, the Farmville Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased you are here.

The Farmville Area Chamber of Commerce is delighted to make this community guide available to you. We ask that you patronize the businesses whose membership and advertising made this possible.

Awaiting your call or visit, our friendly Chamber staff will do all they can to make your visit or relocation a positive experience to remember. Please call, write, fax, or e-mail the Chamber to learn more about our community. Information on the Chamber website (www.farmvilleareachamber.org) is updated on a regular basis to provide accurate, timely information to all.
