On behalf of the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce, welcome to our beautiful and historic region. The charm of the area is matched only by the warmth of its people.
This region is bursting with energy and opportunity, and we at the Chamber work every day to help this dynamic economy grow smartly.
Our community is located a mere 50 miles from Washington, D.C., allowing businesses to easily plug in to the networking opportunities available in our nation’s capital. Local governments strive to keep taxes reasonable and work closely with the Chamber to nurture a business-friendly atmosphere. The I-95 Corridor and the ready availability of rail and air service, and mass transit options, ensure the ability to easily move people and goods throughout the region.
Amidst all of this bustle, local leaders work hard to preserve the Fredericksburg region’s home-town atmosphere and the many historic and cultural sites that dot our landscape – from George Washington’s Ferry Farm to the Civil War battlefield of Chancellorsville. Excellent medical care services will expand with the opening of two new hospitals in the area. A wide array of cultural and recreational opportunities also are available.
Fredericksburg is the home of University of Mary Washington, which recently has been lauded as one the best colleges for its size in the nation. For more than 35 years, Germanna Community College has provided a solid educational and training foundation for our workers. Our public schools are the equal of any in Virginia, and, indeed, the nation.
The Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce is proud to offer this publication to you. We hope it will serve you well. We also offer other materials such as our relocation guide, e-mail publications, our membership directory, our community profile and ChamberLink, our monthly newspaper.
Thank you for contacting us. If we can be of any further assistance, please let us know. Thank you for letting us introduce you to the Fredericksburg Region. It is indeed a wonderful place to live and work.
Robert F. Hagan, President
