
Volunteers annually contribute thousands of hours to nonprofit programs and organizations within the community. Lions and Rotary clubs, Jaycees and various women’s clubs serve the community in many ways. Other groups promote cultural diversity and historic preservation. Eagle Scouts and college students also perform valuable community service.
The Rappahannock United Way is a collection of agencies that promotes health, recreation and welfare services by raising $2 million annually. The Mary Washington Hospital Community Service Fund supports the healthcare programs of charitable organizations throughout the region.
