The Loudoun Arts Council promotes cultural quality of life in Loudoun County. Charged with advocating, assisting, and promoting artists and their respective arts, the Loudoun Arts Council sponsors programs and activities, publicizes events through its calendar of arts events and its newsletter, and produces an arts directory for members. Loudoun residents and neighbors can take advantage of participating in one of several local art clubs, as well as many community art programs and classes. The Loudoun Sketch Club promotes exhibits and shows throughout the year. Purcellvilles Arts in a Nutshell offers art courses for young children, and Blue Ridge Fine Arts offers classes in music, art and theater for people of all ages and abilities. The Transcendental Arts Council joins a coalition of artists together to promote the artistic mind in innovative ways.
Loudoun seems to take on a festive look more often than not; theres always something going on somewhere. Civil War reenactments, art shows, antique shows, farmers markets, flower and garden shows and craft fairs give towns and communities a festive atmosphere all year long. Library Programs Six regional libraries, as well as a research library that focuses on local history and genealogy, offer residents easy access to thousands of books, references, and materials. In addition, Loudouners can enjoy a number of special programs offered by the Loudoun County libraries, from preschool reading circles to special interest meetings, presentations and programs.
