Government
The County is governed by a five-member Board of Supervisors, and a County Administrator who oversees daily operations of the County. The County is also well served by a sheriff, under sheriff, 17 patrol deputies who provide police protection, and five state police officers. A fire chief and 130-member volunteer fire department provides excellent fire-fighting capabilities.
