Vienna is found within the boundaries of Fairfax County located in the northeastern corner of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Originally founded in 1742, Fairfax County is 399 square miles in area and remains one of the fastest growing localities in the Washington metropolitan region.

It is currently the home to about 950,000 residents and almost half a million jobs. The county is perfectly situated for trade and travel - it lies between Washington, D.C. - (the federal government is the world's largest purchaser of technology goods and services) - and Washington Dulles International Airport, one of the world's fastest growing international airports.

The area is served by three major airports: Washington Dulles International, Baltimore/Washington International, and Ronald Reagan National.Ê There are also plenty of options for more local travel. The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority operates Metrobus service throughout the metropolitan area, and the Metrorail which has 74 stations with over 89 miles of track, connecting downtown Washington, Maryland and Virginia. Three Metrorail stations serve the Vienna region itself.
