Riverside Health System – Riverside Health System stands as the Peninsula’s most comprehensive healthcare provider, operating numerous locations throughout the region and its surrounding area. In addition to several major hospital campuses, Riverside has established facilities specializing in physical care, rehabilitation, behavioral health, convalescent care, managed care, diagnostics and outpatient care. Sentara Healthcare – Sentara Healthcare has certainly grown from its start as a 25-bed hospital in Norfolk in 1888. Today, the system operates more than 100 sites, including seven acute care hospitals, nine outpatient centers, seven nursing centers, three assisted living centers, nine advanced imaging centers and the Sentara Medical Group, which is equipped with 380 primary and multi-specialty care physicians.

Bon Secours Hampton Roads Health System – Bon Secours Hampton Roads Health System is a not-for-profit, Catholic healthcare delivery system with a number of established facilities in the area. Notable is Mary Immaculate Hospital, located conveniently in Newport News. The hospital has been a part of the Bon Secours Health System since 1996. Its campus features the Medical Pavilion, Denbigh Medical Center, 115-bed St. Francis Nursing Center, the Community Education and Health Resource Center and the Parcourse Fitness Trail.

Hampton University Proton Therapy Institute –At 98,000 square feet and a total of five treatment rooms, the Hampton University Proton Therapy Institute (HUPTI) is the only proton therapy cancer treatment center in Virginia. With plans to treat over 2,000 patients per year with breast, lung, prostate, pediatric and other cancers, HUPTI is the largest free-standing proton therapy institute in the world. HUPTI is a state-of-the-art research and training facility as the first proton center in the nation to provide proton-specific medical career training at a variety of levels, radiation therapist to MD/PhD and an additional beam line dedicated to proton therapy research.
