Chamber’s Message

Welcome to Colville, a community nestled in the picturesque mountains of northeastern Washington State. Colville continues to embrace the values of community that have existed here for more than 110 years. Our Chamber of Commerce celebrates its 95-year anniversary of service and community heritage. We are a town of diverse backgrounds, interests, and ideals that share a love for our geographical setting and our neighbors as friends.

As the Colville Chamber of Commerce president, I am honored to serve Colville and its growing business community. Colville holds endless opportunity for existing businesses and inspired entrepreneurs. We welcome young families with our outstanding education resources that begin with our Colville School District and continue into a community college and Washington State University Extension facility. The natural beauty of our area brings thousands of visitors each year and an ever-increasing population of those easing into retirement.

Colville is also the county seat of Stevens County and therefore provides a broad array of government services including the Stevens County Courthouse and City Hall; State, County and City Police; Emergency Medical dispatch and ambulances; road departments; U.S. Forest Service; U.S. Immigration and Border Patrol; Department of Social and Health Services; a municipal airport and a host of other community resources. Our excellent medical facilities reach beyond rural expectation with multi-specialty groups, private physician offices, hospitals, counseling services, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, conventional and natural-pathic medicine. Colville's local shopping experience is everything from rustic and antique to specialty and state of the art. Our plentiful supply of renewable natural resources provide for a viable timber, recreational and expansive agricultural industry. Colville also serves as an international gateway community with its six entries into Canada all within a short scenic drive. With a wide variety of lodging options from hotels and motels to quaint bed and breakfasts, we welcome visitors of all interests.

During your stay with us, you'll enjoy perfect landscapes and experience a four season recreational haven unlike any other. Colville's residents and visitors indulge in outdoor activities from summer hiking, camping, boating and fishing into winter snow skiing, sledding and snowmobiling. Fall provides a hunter's retreat and an arborist's dream of layered colors. We then watch nature's breathtaking crystal white winter blanket transform into spring's expansive green canvas. Colville's international cuisine, local artisans, performing arts, dinner theater, car shows, N.E. Washington Fair, Rendezvous Days, PRCA Rodeo, Turkey Daze, Christmas Tree Extravaganza, Moonlight Madness and a variety of other year round events and activities offer endless entertainment possibilities. And that's just the beginning!

Welcome to Colville...Discover Our Good Nature.

Sincerely,

Bill Danekas, President
Colville Chamber of Commerce
