Fairs & Fun
Our Colville calendar is crowded with annual festivals, fairs and contests open to the general public. Here is a sample of the fun:
Christmas Tree Extravaganza
(December)
Christmas trees are decorated, loaded with gifts and donated by area businesses to be raffled off at the Gala Dinner Dance sponsored by the Colville Chamber of Commerce and open to the public. Other activities during the holiday season include horse drawn wagon rides, tree lighting, carol singing, and shopping specials.
Gold Rush Fun Run
(third weekend in January)
Held by the Driftriders Snowmobile Club, snowmobilers start from Beaver Lodge on the Little Pend Oreille Lake proceeding through the trail system and back. Contestants stand to win as much as $1,500 in prize money.
Colville PRCA Rodeo
(Father's Day Weekend)
A rodeo has been held on this national holiday for 60 years. Festivities kick off on Friday evening with a Bull-a-rama that allows amateurs to try their hand at bull riding before they take a seat to watch the professionals compete. Carnivals, cowboy breakfasts, parades and a dance complete the weekend excitement for all ages.
Washington Governor's Cup Walleye Tournament
(third weekend in June)
A two-man event that challenges fishermen to haul in the heaviest catch of a two-day tournament on Lake Roosevelt. Governors from all states are invited to send a representative team, and the trophy is shipped to the winner's state for display. A Junior Walleye Tournament on that Saturday adds to the family participation.
Paddle Days
(third week in July)
A free fun-filled day on the water at Lake Roosevelt. A variety of activities include canoeing, windsurfing, snorkeling, kayaking, and sailing; all ages and abilities from beginners to experts welcome. Instructors and lessons available on site.
Colville Rendezvous Days
(first weekend in August)
A fun summer event attracting visitors to Yep Kanum City Park. Activities include sports tournaments, arts & crafts booths, history displays and main stage entertainment. Children get in on the act with a petting zoo and face-painting area.
NE Washington Fair
(fourth week in August)
Four days of fantastic fun. Events include a Jr. Rodeo, a pirate ship with exotic birds, a zoo barn, Logging Olympics and Dirt-N-Dune, dances, games for kids, a variety of vendors, and a big carnival with rides and games. www.newashingtonfair.com.
Turkey Daze
(April)
The Chamber of Commerce co-sponsors a banquet with the National Wild Turkey Federation, to raise money for turkey habitat and to recognize Stevens County as the number one turkey hunting county in Washington State.
Woodland Theatre
(Year Round)
