OUTDOOR ADVENTURES
The area is a boon to outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy boating, golfing, hiking, skiing and other types of active recreation. There are abundant championship-caliber golf courses in and around the Eastside. Fresh water lakes and the proximity of Puget Sound make Bellevue a haven for boaters.
The nearby Cascade Mountain range is a mecca for hikers and mountain bikers in some of the last old-growth forests accessible to the public. A variety of great camping destinations are just a short drive away. Eastern Washington boasts fine wineries and vineyards that are earning national and international recognition.
Skiers and snowboarders can find a white haven less than an hour away during the winter months. Snow skiing and snowboarding are less than an hour away during the wintertime atSnoqualmie Pass or Crystal Mountain. With a slightly longer drive, snow lovers can enjoy the mile-long runs and rigorouscross-country trails at Stevens Pass or Mount Baker. The recreation areas in the Cascades also provide plenty of trails for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.

Bellevue
The Bellevue Collection, which includes Bellevue Square, Bellevue Place and Lincoln Square, offers a shopping experience like none other in the Northwest. Located in the heart of Bellevue, the Bellevue
Collection offers 250 exceptional shops, many sit-down restaurants, a 16-screen premier cinema, 700 luxury hotel rooms and 10,000 free retail parking spaces, all in one location.
Further south is Factoria Mall, located just southeast of I-90 and I-405. Factoria and Loehmans Plaza Factoria offer shoppers a variety of choices that feature cutting-edge designers, as well as family retailers. Crossroads Shopping Center in the
Overlake neighborhood acts as a community gathering place, offering a diverse shopping and dining experience with over 80 stores, restaurants and services.
Bellevue Place includes the Hyatt Hotel and high-rise office space. Main Street in Old Bellevue is a street lined with charming shops, galleries and dining opportunities.
Redmond
Just beyond Bellevue city limits is Redmond Town Center, which has more than 100 shops and services in an outdoor environment.
North Bend-Auburn
A few miles further east on I-90 is North Bend, where almost 50 major brand names have established an outlet center with discounts from 40 to 70 percent off retail prices. The Factory Stores are 30 minutes east of Lake Washington communities.
Bothell
Downtown Bothell offers a charming walk along the Burke Gilman Trail, or through its historic downtown where merchants have established retail stores. Both pathways provide picturesque settings for art galleries, cafes, bakeries and independent merchants.
Carnation
Almost all of the commerce in this rural community revolves around Remlinger Farms, where children may enjoy a pony ride or the Mine Twister roller coaster. Parents may purchase crafts from Northwest artists and primitive folk art. Fresh fruits and vegetables are available from the produce stands or for picking during the season.
Issaquah
South of the farmland in the Snoqualmie Valley is the unique Gilman Village shopping areas in downtown Issaquah. Gilman Village has been an Eastside specialty-shopping landmark for more than a quarter of a century, with 40 shops and restaurants. The High Street shopping neighborhood is being developed, which will include a hotel, high-end grocery store, cinema, restaurants, shops and office space.
Kirkland
Antique shoppers will enjoy the Antique Mall of Kirkland, which has 80 dealers. Antiques range from jewelry and silver, to glassware and books. Downtown Kirkland on the shores of Lake Washington provides traditional upscale boutiques and art galleries among a vast array of restaurants and sidewalk cafes.
Snoqualmie
Historic Downtown Snoqualmie offers a variety of fun and unique specialty shops that include antiques, florists, restaurants, a candy shop with an old-fashioned lunch counter and a Northwest microbrewery.
Woodinville
More art and antique galleries are located in Woodinville. The antique showroom houses dozens of dealers in one location, featuring linens, books, war mementos and one-of-a-kind items. Woodinville is also the home of Molbaks, the area’s largest nursery. In addition to plants, the nursery sells garden tools and patio furniture.
