The Ashland Area Chamber
of Commerce staff welcomes you to take a sneak preview of the City of
Ashland. We are excited about the many opportunities in Ashland. We have
excellent schools, a regional healthcare facility, three medical clinics,
a four-year private college, technical college, industrial park, and enterprise
center.
Location, location, location...Ashland is located on the shores of the
Chequamegon Bay on Lake Superior. We enjoy the beauty of the biggest fresh
water lake and the Apostle Islands. Ashland is nestled between the Nicolet
National Forest and the Chequamegon pronounced (sha-wam-é-gon) National
Forest. Copper Falls State Park and Morgan Falls are only a short drive.
You will experience history driving in Ashland. The Oredock is located
on the east end of town. Main Street is home to several historic brownstone
buildings and Chapple Avenue is a showcase of historic homes, all of which
have interesting stories. The murals around town depict actual people
from Ashland's past. The Depot building is currently going through a 3.5
million dollar restoration from a horrific fire that destroyed the building
in April of 2000.
Ashland has an excellent quality of life, diverse economy base, and beautiful
surroundings.
