Arts & Culutre
Brookfield’s art scene is as vibrant as ever, and we invite you to explore your creative interests right here at home. From live theater and musicals to dance performances and fine art displays, Brookfield residents are among the most culturally active in the state. Lifestyles in Brookfield reflect residents’ taste for the fine arts.
In the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts, located on the west side amidst a beautiful expanse of serene woodlands, Brookfield has created one of Wisconsin’s most impressive spaces for exhibiting the work of local and visiting artists. The center has a 600-seat performance hall, music classrooms and practice rooms, dance studios, classrooms and more — all dedicated to supporting local artists and art education. Groups (such as the Milwaukee Ballet Company, Milwaukee Art Museum, Wisconsin Conservatory of Music and the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra) now exhibit their talents for aficionados right here in Brookfield.
Complementing the programs at the Wilson Center, great live performances are hosted at the Sunset Playhouse — a community theater located in Brookfield’s sister city, Elm Grove. At Sunset, volunteer players from throughout the greater Milwaukee area perfect their craft in comedies, dramas and musicals.
