Government

The City of Brookfield was incorporated in 1954 with a Mayor and City Council form of government. The Mayor serves a four-year term, and two aldermen elected from each of seven districts serve four-year terms. The Town of Brookfield was established in 1843, and is governed by the Town Chairperson and four supervisors.

Using communications technology, teamwork and years of experience, local government has instilled a sense of pride and accomplishment throughout the city and town — bringing many improvements, creating new jobs and preparing for further expansion.
