

Cedarburg’s award-winning school system is committed to providing its 3,100 students with a world-class education. The district has one high school, one middle school for grades six through eight, three elementary schools for kindergarten through fifth grade, as well as the early learning center, which specializes in early childhood special education programs for children with disabilities aged three to five.

Cedarburg’s curriculum prepares students for lives as productive, responsible citizens and to achieve their goals and dreams. With a favorable 15-to-1 student-staff ratio, instructors are able to provide students with individualized attention, giving each student the opportunity to reach his or her full potential.
Proof of this commitment is evident in the strong performance of Cedarburg’s students. Elementary school students consistently rank in the top three in Southeastern Wisconsin for Wisconsin Knowledge Concepts Examination testing for reading, science and math.

Members of the Cedarburg High School Class of 2008 achieved the highest composite ACT scores in recent history. Wisconsin ACT score averages, which rank 3rd in the nation, held steady at 22.3 points, while Cedarburg test scores increased to 24.4. This is well above the national composite score of 21.1.
Since 1994, Cedarburg High School has produced 33 finalists for National Merit Scholar awards. Cedarburg has a 100 percent graduation rate, and over 90 percent of the 2008 graduating senior class moved on to higher education at many of the most prestigious colleges and universities throughout the country. The Cedarburg Community Scholarship Fund and the Cedarburg High School Scholarship Program provide financial aid to many graduating students.
Complementing the school system’s exceptional curriculum, Cedarburg’s facilities rank among the finest in the state. The high school features a new football and track stadium, a new field house featuring an indoor track, zero-edge, chlorine-free pool and basketball courts. Cedarburg places great importance on making state-of-the-art technology available for all students. This is evidenced by updated technology labs in all schools and fiber-optic Internet connections available for Cedarburg students.

More than half of the district’s staff holds an advanced degree. Five staff members have doctorates, and another 41 have master’s degrees in their fields. Ten instructors have been honored as recipients of the prestigious Kohl Teacher Fellowship.
At the high school, students ready for more challenging coursework have the option of taking advanced-placement courses in English, science, mathematics, social studies, languages and art. Courses in college study methods, advanced reading techniques and advanced study strategies are offered as well.
Cedarburg high school is a member of the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association and the North Shore Conference, and offers 21 extracurricular athletic activities. Students also may participate in five different academic competitions, as well as 28 clubs and organizations, including the Community Service Volunteer Program.
