Eagle River Area Chamber of Commerce
Formed in 1948, the Eagle River Area Chamber of Commerce stands as the oldest chamber in Vilas County. It has been a significant element in the area’s business community with a mission to improve the local economy and promote the growing tourism industry in the Northwoods region. With expanding business growth over the years, Chamber membership has also increased. It’s no wonder, as members are provided with an exhaustive list of benefits including networking, advertising and sponsorship opportunities at many Chamber-sponsored events and through the Chamber’s monthly newsletter, its annual Visitors Guide, its Web site listing and the InnLine 24 Hour Info Center—among other benefits. Eagle River Revitalization Program
Eagle River was chosen as a Wisconsin Main Street community in 1999. Since then, the city instilled the pioneering Eagle River Revitalization Program (ERRP), a crucial program geared towards enhancing Eagle River’s appearance, its business climate and its overall quality of life. The community’s Main Street District covers the entirety of Eagle River, which makes this improvement project even more important. By 2010, this program is envisioned to restore and expand Eagle River’s reputation as the chief residential and tourist destination in this Wisconsin region. Dramatic changes have already been seen along the community’s major roadways, notably Wall Street, Railroad Street, Bridge Street and Highway 45 North, and the restored Railroad Depot, which now houses the Eagle River Historical Society Museum. Beneficial business assistance is an integral part of the ERRP as well, as it offers local businesses the chance to take advantage of reinvestment loans, sign grants, design assistance, market analysis and confidential small business counseling and training.
