Higher Education in Fond du Lac

Three outstanding higher education facilities have campuses in Fond du Lac: Marian College, the University of Wisconsin-Fond du Lac and Moraine Park Technical College.

Marian College is a Catholic, applied liberal arts college. Marian’s areas of excellence include new professorships, quality programs, increased scholarships and endowments, technological advancements and new facilities. With more than 50 majors, outreach classes in six locations, a newly rewired campus with the latest technology, a student ratio of 14:1 and a 97 percent placement rate, Marian has much to offer students.

Marian College is on the forefront of technology and executive programs with its newly-erected Stayer Center for New Technology and Executive Learning — which functions as an executive and business education center, conference center, reception facility and technology training center. It includes classrooms, computer labs, an exercise facility, 23 sleeping quarters, conference rooms, a 250-seat auditorium, a 250-seat dining facility and a two-story glass atrium.

The University of Wisconsin-Fond du Lac is a freshman/sophomore campus of the University of Wisconsin System. Through the Guaranteed Transfer program, a student can earn an associate of arts and science degree at UW-Fond du Lac and be guaranteed admission to another UW System institution as a junior.

With an enrollment of more than 700 students, UW-Fond du Lac offers courses that are the foundation for more than 250 majors. Academic offerings include day and evening credit courses, study abroad opportunities and seven bachelor’s degree completion programs from five UW four-year schools.

The park-like campus includes six buildings that overlook the ponds and the 60-acre Gottfried Arboretum, which serves as an outdoor classroom and provides recreational opportunities.

A $13 million expansion/renovation project transformed UW-Fond du Lac into a state-of-the-art facility with new science labs and larger and brighter classrooms. A beautiful new two-story University Center was added to the campus as part of the renovation project and includes a new commons area that is popular with students and has also been the site of several community events. The University Center includes a new library, music suite, the 340-seat Prairie Theater, campus bookstore and cafeteria.

Moraine Park Technical College, part of the Wisconsin Technical College System, is a locally-governed, public higher education institution. With a main campus in Fond du Lac, Moraine Park offers more than 80 associate degree programs, technical diplomas and certificate programs. Career programs are also available and Corporate and Community Services offer customized training to meet the needs of business and industry.
