
Residents of the Jefferson area are afforded easy access to a multitude of healthcare resources, which range from dentists, chiropractors and optometrists to a full-service hospital and an array of clinics located within close distance.

Fort HealthCare is a vital medical provider for the entirety of Jefferson County and its surrounding communities. Many of Jefferson’s physicians are affiliated with Fort HealthCare’s Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital, a fully- accredited, acute and sub-acute facility equipped with 110 beds and more than 100 on-staff physicians.
In addition to the hospital, Fort HealthCare’s Fort Medical Group has established a network of multi-disciplinary clinics throughout the county, specializing in everything from pediatrics, eye care and surgical services to geriatrics, women’s care and family health. Fort Medical Group operates a Family Medicine Clinic within Jefferson. In addition to Fort HealthCare, residents can access the nearby Watertown Memorial Hospital and Edgerton Hospital.
The area’s senior population has plenty of excellent options for specialized care as well. Twin Rivers and Sylvan Crossings are both assisted living facilities that offer a comforting alternative for seniors needing specialized care. Countryside Home is a 120-bed skilled nursing facility that offers its residents the highest quality care in a relaxed, neighborhood atmosphere. Jefferson is also home to Rainbow Hospice Care, a nonprofit organization devoted to providing care to individuals enduring a terminal illness or experiencing acute pain and/or suffering.

St. Coletta of Wisconsin has a 105-year commitment to services for adults with developmental disabilities (DD). St. Coletta offers: accessible community-based homes that enable clients to age in place to the fullest extent possible; Padua Heights (CBRF), a home for seniors with DD; assessments with video integration to detect age-related changes for all clients beginning at age 40; coordination with the University of Chicago Research and Training Center, Fort Health Care and other medical supports and local hospice providers; bereavement and end of life support in coordination with the pastoral ministry team, local clergy and hospice; specialized staff training in age-related subject matter; retirement planning as part of annual ISP; and the Golden Options Adult Day Program, which provides a warm, safe, stimulating and accessible environment for persons in need of daytime support.
Keeping fit has certainly become a top priority among many of Jefferson’s residents. Health awareness classes and workshops can be found through Fort HealthCare, while personal training and fitness options are available at such facilities as GET FIT and Snap Fitness.
