Events and Festivals
The Mosinee area hosts fun and interesting yearly events. One of the best ways to really get to know a community is through its local events, art and culture. There are plenty of opportunities in and around Mosinee to explore the region’s heritage and experience its character.
The Creske Center’s large auditorium seats 750 guests for plays, seminars and concerts. Its state-of-the-art audio-visual display and splendid stage sets create an enveloping sensory experience that leaves audiences cheering for more.
Mosinee In Action is a weeklong event in April which focuses on strengthening family and community relationships. The Mosinee Area Chamber of Commerce hosts a Business & Community EXPO and the “Taste of Mosinee” during the Mosinee In Action week. Other spring events include Community Sale Days, Bike Rodeo and American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.
Summer is an exciting time as the Mosinee Area celebrates Independence Day with a festival, parade and fabulous fireworks display on July 4th. In August, Mosinee celebrates its history and enriches the present with the Little Bull Falls LogJam Festival. The second weekend in August, River Park overflows with exhibits, food, entertainment, historic rendezvous encampment area and logging competitions and demonstrations for LogJam (www.logjamfestival.org). Also in August, the Mosinee Area Chamber coordinates the annual Greater Mosinee Open Golf Outing and Member Appreciation Dinner at Indianhead Golf Course. In September, Mosinee businesses offer area women an opportunity to eat, shop and celebrate with the “It’s Your Day!” Women’s Event.
Cold weather doesn’t impede the fun in Mosinee. Halloween always features an interesting Haunting of River Park event. Every year is slightly different but increasingly spooky. Then the first Saturday in December is the annual Christmas Festival, which includes an Arts & Crafts Show, Chili Challenge, Caroling and a nostalgic winter Parade.
