Civic Organizations

People in the Mosinee area weave faith into the tapestry of daily life, whatever their spiritual persuasion. By gathering together to express continued devotion with a local congregation, their commitment to spiritual growth shines as an example to others.

This example extends throughout the community as selfless volunteers donate their time daily to improve the lives of the less fortunate through dozens of social outreach programs. Mosinee’s faith community moves forward with a vision that will accommodate the spiritual needs of an ever growing number of faithful.

The Mosinee area is also the home of numerous civic clubs and community organizations devoted to creating strong ties, strengthening families, enriching the lives of children, providing leadership and helping the needy. There are dozens of active groups in the area that have charters and membership rolls spanning many generations.

The Mosinee Area Action Club has been serving the Mosinee Community for the past 28 years. Formerly known as Mosinee Kiwanis, The Mosinee Area Action Club (MAAC) became a 501(C)(3) not-for-profit organization and changed their name in 2006, with a primary focus on supporting those in need in the Mosinee Area.

The mission of the MAAC is to provide service for the benefit of the greater Mosinee area and to provide charitable assistance to lessen the burdens of individuals or groups in our area through support of our not-for-profit organization.

The Mosinee Area Action Club is an active service club who has provided funding or service for the following projects: handicap ramps, disaster assistance, clothes for kids in need, sponsorship of youth baseball and football teams, improvements to River Park, meals for the Ronald McDonald House in Marshfield and college scholarships for local high school students.

The MAAC meets every first and third Thursday. For more information regarding the MAAC, please visit their website at www.mosineeareaactionclub.org.

For the past two years, the Mosinee Community Athletic Association (MCAA) has been on the fast track to improve and develop athletic facilities in the Mosinee area.

The MCAA, a 501(C)(3) not-for-profit organization, was formed in 2006. The MCAA is a compilation of youth and adult sports organizations throughout the Mosinee community. The MCAA also has members from the Mosinee School District and the City of Mosinee. The main focus and mission statement of the MCAA is to develop, maintain and promote better athletic facilities in the Mosinee Community.

The MCAA recently completed projects at Edgewood Park (soccer field improvements and scoreboard) and is working to develop an additional soccer field. The MCAA is also leading discussions on developing a Baseball/Softball complex that will solve field issues for youth, high school and adult baseball and softball.

The MCAA meets monthly at the Mosinee School District offices at 590 West State Highway 153 on the second Wednesday.
