
Once known for Muskego Beach and Dandelion Park, the adventure park of its time, Muskego now offers family fun with quality local events such as Muskego Community Festival and Parade, Historical Events, Treasure the Holidays, the award-winning Muskego Waterbugs Ski Show and quality productions at the Muskego High School Performing Arts Center. The community also boasts abundant lake and park recreation opportunities with three lakes and 11 city parks.

Throughout the Year
The Muskego High School Performing Arts Center is a 772-seat, fully-equipped facility located approximately 22 miles southwest of downtown Milwaukee. In 2005, it began its first full season of operation serving the Muskego-Norway School District and community. Dedicated to the promotion of performing arts education, the PAC provides a venue for the production and performance of a wide variety of events. Spring
In early May, the public library is transformed into an elegant venue for sampling of wine, cheese, coffee and food, while mood music creates an exquisite atmosphere at the Wine Tasting Library Benefit. Lion’s Club presents Lunch with the Easter Bunny on the Saturday before Easter in Muskego County Park from 10:30-noon.
Summer
The Water Bugs Ski Team was formed in 1958, making them one of the first ski show clubs in Wisconsin. They have made Little Muskego Lake their home since 1981. Over the years, the club has performed throughout the Midwest and provided 25 years of shows at Milwaukee’s Summerfest. They have received a number of awards including the Wisconsin State Division II Championship, National Division II Runner-Up and many individual national awards. The Water Bugs Ski Show can be seen every Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. from Memorial Day to Labor Day at Idle Isle Park, located on Little Muskego Lake. Muskego Community Festival and Parade is one of Waukesha County’s largest festivals, drawing nearly 30,000 over the three-day event. Top area talent is featured on three stages along with quality family entertainment and a carnival. Sunday features the parade, where more than 10,000 people line the sidewalks and streets to enjoy colorful floats, bands, animals and specialty acts. Also, on Sunday afternoon, the Historical Society features historic demos, building tours and activities at the Settlement Centre adjacent to the Festival grounds. The community’s largest event takes place each year on the weekend in August prior to Labor Day weekend, in Veteran’s Memorial Park on Racine Avenue, just three miles south of I-43.
Fall
In September the Muskego Lion’s Club sponsors a delicious Lobster Boil. Menu selections include fresh lobster or 14 oz. steak. Entertainment includes a band and many raffle prizes. Additional information can be found by visiting www.muskegolions.com.
Join Muskego’s best and most original Ghost Walk for a journey through the darker side of Muskego’s history, as presented by Muskego Historical Society and Muskego Players. You’ll have chilling tours of Settlement Centre buildings. Thus, Muskego’s spookiest tour begins, and a spine-chilling night awaits you in the company of masterful storytellers, the Muskego Players. As you journey through the darkest places, the Players will regale you with a narrative that is steeped in both folklore and legend. The Peppermint Fair is sponsored by Muskego Woman’s Club and features 60-plus vendors. A craft fair is not complete without the offerings of a plate lunch and bake sale. The home of Peppermint Craft Fair is Bay Lane Middle School and is held the first Sunday in November.
Winter
Treasure the Holidays is where charm and romance of Christmas past and present come together. The venue, Muskego Settlement Centre, is adorned in holiday lights with luminaries along the boardwalk, adding to the quaint and charming atmosphere. Additional activities include the official city tree lighting, visits with Santa, ice sculpting, children’s train rides, hay wagon rides, petting zoo, pony rides, concessions and the Pioneer Pub, featuring holiday brew and wines!

Breakfast with Santa, sponsored by Muskego Lion’s Club, is held at Muskego High School on the second Sunday of December.
A night of mystery and intrigue of past eras are held each February with a murder mystery dinner or vintage dances. The venue, Old Town Hall at Muskego Settlement Centre, is engaging. Presented by the Muskego Historical Society and the Muskego Players, intrigue and romance are on the agenda. For details, visit www.muskegohistory.org.
An Awards Banquet and Silent Auction, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, is a favorite among guests for its diversity, both in price range and items offered. During the appetizers guests may wander through an expansive display of goods. The gala takes place in March.
Lion’s Raffle Event welcomes several hundred ticket holders each year for an evening of multiple raffle drawings that includes a major cash drawing. Ticket holders also enjoy an evening of dinner and music. The Raffle Party takes place each year on a Saturday in March.
