Q: Tell us a little about your community and why you love it.

A: Richland Center is a great place to live. We are located in southwest Wisconsin, which was not glaciated, so we have beautiful tree-covered hills that change colors with the seasons. We are small enough that we know everyone and look out for each other. We are a safe community.
Q: What do you see as the most important attributes of the Richland Center area?
A: We have a wonderful school system with modern facilities. We are also home to the University of Wisconsin-Richland, a fully accredited two-year campus. Our park system is second to none and includes hiking trails, picnic facilities, scenic views, and trout fishing, as well as baseball, soccer, football, basketball and tennis facilities. Winter brings on skating, hockey and sledding.
Q: What sets the Richland area apart from other communities?

A: Our people help each other and the community. Volunteerism allows many projects to be completed. Star Spangled Celebration is an all-volunteer three-day country music festival, which celebrated their fifteenth year in 2008 after starting out with a one-night three-hour show in its first year. An annual — Walk With Grace one-night benefit raised over $200,000 in 2008. It’s just an amazing community.
Q: What makes people want to visit here… and stay here?
A: When someone visits us they are drawn to the scenic beauty of the area. Our small city attitude keeps them here. It’s a perfect place to raise a family or to spend your retirement years. We work hard to retain our job base and provide opportunities for all. You’ll feel welcome here.
