The Village of Sussex has initiated several successful public-private partnerships that have helped businesses create nearly 4,000 employment opportunities for the people of the community.
Recent examples include the development of the 70-acre Sussex Business Park, and the 221-acre Sussex Corporate Center, both unique, high-end developments. Other partnership examples include: The creation of Tax Incremental Financing (TIF) districts to encourage employment opportunities and upgrade the Village infrastructure, and the establishment of the Sussex Revolving Loan Fund (RLF), to encourage employment, private investment, and provide a financial alternative for small, start-up or expanding businesses.
The Village of Sussex is also planning for new residential, commercial and industrial sites, as part of its 2020 Comprehensive Plan.
The Town of Lisbon is home to approximately 70 businesses, has one industrial park, and is in the process of developing a second one. The principal business of Lisbon is the extraction of gravel and limestone.
