Shopping
In addition to the quaint downtown business district of Thiensville, numerous shopping opportunities are found along much of Port Washington Road and on Mequon Road.
The Pavilions at Mequon, on Port Washington Road, is a 53-store shopping complex that houses many of the best-known names in retail. The center includes a major food store, national and regional chains, boutiques, specialty shops, and several restaurants.
Nearby on Port Washington Road is Venture Court, a combination retail center and office facility. Adjacent to this center is the Mequon Marketplace.
Several shopping opportunities are available to the west on Mequon Road. Among these are East Towne Square Mall, with 20 stores in a small enclosed mall, and River Centre, at Mequon and Cedarburg roads. This shopping center has 19 stores, including a large food store. The newest shopping area, Mequon Court II, is home to a variety of specialized stores and restaurants.
A sign at the entrance to Thiensville’s downtown business district reads, “Welcome to Thiensville, a mile of service and smiles.” Thiensville’s Main Street is lined on both sides with stores and services of every description. In the heart of downtown are many stores and specialty shops, including Suburban Motors, Wisconsin’s largest Harley-Davidson parts dealer.
On Tuesdays from June through October, Thiensville holds a farmers market in its downtown. Area farmers bring in fresh produce and find residents eager to buy.
