Mequon’s location at the fringe of the Milwaukee metropolitan complex and proximity to several modes of transportation make it a desirable site for business and industry. The city boasts a sizeable manufacturing base and is seeing a rapid growth in office facilities.
The city has four business parks. The Mequon Business Park is the largest, covering 235 acres. Eighty-acre Lakes of Mequon Park is second in size. East Mequon Corporate Centre contains a total of 130,500-square feet of space. North Shore Office Park is the smallest of the four business parks, with 66,000-square feet available.
Nearly 60 manufacturing companies call Mequon home. They range in size from a single employee to as many as 800 workers. Rockwell Automation is the community’s largest industrial employer with 800 employees. It makes electrical DC drives and systems. Other large firms include Telsmith Inc., which produces rock crushing and screening equipment and Johnson Level and Tool, manufacturer of a full line of levels, squares, and other tools.
