Mequon-Thiensville
Town Center Development
The Town Center Project is a 10 to 15 year vision for development and redevelopment within the Cedarburg Road/Main Street corridor. This plan was developed with active participation from both communities.
Key elements of this project include:
• Development of a riverwalk along the Milwaukee River as a way to provide a pedestrian link between communities.
• Introduction of additional housing opportunities throughout the corridor to expand the customer base and add activity to the pedestrian environment.
• Revitalization of key retail areas to meet the needs of community residents.
• Enhancement of the Mequon civic campus, its recreational facilities and to provide a community green.
The Town Center of this vision will become the centrally located heart of both Mequon and Thiensville. It will foster interaction among residents, encourage gathering and activities, provide a pleasant pedestrian atmosphere along the river, offer restaurants and shops, and feature quality architecture and site design.
